Hollywood Cabinetry Wrap Job

Live video on wrapping the cabinet doors with vinyl

Every job is a little different. We tested the vinyl out at the shop in Boise Idaho. I said it felt like soft plastic vinyl. Then we ship the board to LA. The customer like it, so Rm wraps made a buy button on the website. On the page there are stages. Stage 1 is that the customer pays for the material, traveling, hotel. Stage 2 the labor when we get done.

The customer request is that they didn’t want to see cut marks and the sides of the doors, so heating and stretching the vinyl over the edge of the doors. As you seen in the video.

When Rm wraps got the LA. and started the job, we notice on the door that the vinyl had shrunk and little. We called and Dan told us it might be the cold that made the vinyl shrunk.

As long as we where here, we wanted to try the upstairs bathroom cabinets. Test area. We wrapped the the 2 bathrooms and just the heat and stretch technique. The next day we came back the vinyl moved back a little. :(

We had to remove all the vinyl off the door and try a different way.

Cut the edges. This is the best way to wrap any door. It doesn't stretch the vinyl. The vinyl just layes down on the wood.

The customers want to stop because the cool white hue and couldn't do the heat and stretch around the door edge.

We had extra vinyl and what Rm wraps is going to try to do is help sell the extra vinyl. If Rm wraps sell the extra vinyl, we will give the money back to the customer.

The pros.

  • The vinyl has a gloss sheen
  • The cost is low

The cons.

Name *
  • The white has a cool white tone
  • Gloss sheen you see every little bump
  • It shrinks to much
  • When you put the vinyl on the subject, at an angle you can see the glue pattern.
  • the glue will leave a film or glue residue. You have to clean it will goof off. Stinky stuff.

Rm wraps did our best and the customer understood the situation. If you have any comments, let us know.

Every job we go to, we love the explore the area. Here's what we found this time. Enjoy and if you have any comments, share them with us.
