Randy’s family member owns a condo in McCall, Idaho and they wanted to extend the natural beauty of the area into their living space with a wall mural. This was a perfect project for us to showcase the versatility of the Photo Tex fabric material that we normally offer for temporary door wraps, and how quick and easy it is to install larger graphics like this when you choose the right material.
The photograph used to make this mural was taken by Randy’s family member on a regular iPhone 14 - and with a little AI magic provided by Topaz Gigapixel 8 software, we were able to blow it up to 190 inches wide with virtually no pixelation! What is Photo Tex Fabric?
Photo Tex™ is a multi-US-patented, self-adhesive material made of 100% polyester fabric. Its dependable adhesive can be removed and reused multiple times without altering or damaging the surface. Photo Tex does not shrink, curl, rip, or wrinkle in any climate. Photo Tex can be installed for a day or a decade and is easily removable at your discretion. Photo Tex is PVC & PFAS Free , LEED Certified, Green, Fire rated class “A”.
Photo Tex OPA (Opaque)
At RM wraps we stock and print on the OPA version of Photo Tex. This version of the material is slightly thicker than the Original formulation, giving it what is known in the sign industry as a “block-out” capability, meaning you can’t see anything underneath the adhesive once it is applied. This aspect of the OPA film makes it perfect for printing and mounting large murals that require overlapping (hidden) seams, and it means you can mount the graphics on any color wall without needing to worry about painting/priming before install. The added thickness of the film also makes it a bit more durable and easier to handle in large sheets, making it easier to DIY.
