Frequently Asked Questions About Door Wraps

    1. Measure the width and height of the flat face of the door (do not include the frame or jamb).

    2. Add 1 to 2 inches to both height and width when placing your order.

    • Why? Having 1 inch of extra vinyl overlap on all four sides ensures complete coverage and allows you to trim clean edges during installation.

    • 3M Long-Term Vinyl: made from high-grade, durable sign vinyl, including advanced air-egress technology that allows for a perfect, bubble-free install every time. Our long-term vinyl prints are top-coated with a durable, UV-resistant lamination that protects your print from everyday debris and abrasion. This top layer is designed to be easily cleaned with any household cleaner and stand up to the heaviest wear and tear.

    • Removable Photo Tex™ Fabric: a peel & stick adhesive material made of 100% polyester fabric. Its dependable adhesive can be removed and reused multiple times without any alteration or damaged to the surface - it can be installed for a day or a decade and is easy to remove at your discretion. Photo Tex™ textile does not shrink, curl, rip or wrinkle in any climate.

    • 3M Exterior Vinyl: made from the same high-grade materials as car wraps, including advanced air-egress technology that allows for a perfect, bubble-free install every time. Our exterior long-term vinyl prints are top-coated with a durable, UV-resistant lamination that protects your print from water, sun and oil. This top layer is designed to be easily cleaned with any household cleaner and stand up to seasonal weather changes (average outdoor life expectancy of 5 years). 

  • Absolutely! All of our wraps are designed to be DIY-friendly.

    • Easy Application: The air-release vinyl lets you smooth out air pockets effortlessly during application.

    • Free How-To Videos: Founder Randy Miller has created an extensive video tutorial library showing step-by-step door wrap installations.

    • One-on-One Support: If you run into any issues during installation, you can text, call, or video call us (via Facebook or FaceTime) for guidance!

    • Prep the surface: You can use rubbing alcohol and water in a squirt bottle. Or invisible glass cleaner. Lint free towel.

    • Raw MDF or wood: You must roll on the Gardz before you apply the vinyl wrap to the surface. Here’s a video you can watch. https://youtu.be/91zmgqTeR-c

    • Flat Interior doors: Any of the materials will work

    • Panel door or rentals use the Photo tex material. Watch this video. https://youtu.be/V2l3qS68kRw

    • Exterior doors need to be flat and metal. Wood door may have problems in the future.

    • Specialty Doors: Glass, Smooth Metals you can use any material we sell on the website.

  • With a wrap from RM wraps, there’s no need to hunt down any fancy tools to install your wrap - the squeegee you need for applying the vinyl and the knife you need to trim the wrap flush are included right along with your prints in the box. The only other materials you’ll need are some kind of cleaning agent (soap and water, isopropyl alcohol, or glass cleaner) and a cleaning cloth.

    Installation instructions are included as well - simply scan the QR code engraved on the included squeegee, watch the short video on proper vinyl application, and then click on the link in the description for detailed instructions on the subject you’re wrapping (mini fridge, chest freezer, refrigerator, table, door, etc.)

  • Every order is custom made to fit any normal size door. Our Wide format printer is 52” wide.

    When you place the order, in the note add the measurements of the door.

    Sample: 36” wide by 80” high

  • Long-Term and exterior vinyl: Its best to use a hot blow dryer or a heat gun to soft in the vinyl and the glue. If its been on for years there maybe some glue on the surface. You can use Goof or goo gone.

    Removable Photo Tex: just grab a corner and pull down or up. Really easy to remove.

  • The wraps will last for years on the interior use and 3-5 years on the exterior usage. If it not in the sun it can last longer.

    • Hardware: Yes, we strongly recommend removing door knobs, deadbolts, handles, kickplates, and peek-hole covers before applying the wrap for a seamless finish.

    • The Door: You do not need to take the door off its hinges! Most customers install their wraps while the door remains hanging.

    • Any tape, stickers, bad paint job that has junk sticking out.

  • Using the Photo Tex material will not damage the surface.

    Long term and exterior vinyl may damage the paint on the door.

  • Wipe down with a damp cloth and mild dish soap. Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive scrubbing pads.

    We like using invisible glass cleaner and lint free towel.

  • Yes! In addition to graphic door wraps, we sell and install 3M™ DI-NOC™ Architectural Films. DI-NOC films can give flat interior or commercial swing doors the realistic look and feel of real wood grain, metal, stone, or carbon fiber.
